General information
RozGamer.co.uk is an online store for gaming accessories, consoles and video games, operated by RozGamer. The product descriptions, buying guides, compatibility notes and other content on this website are provided to help you choose the right gear. We work hard to keep them accurate and up to date, but they are general information, not professional or technical advice for your particular setup.
This disclaimer should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions, which govern any order you place, and our Privacy Policy. Tips in our A to Z gear guide and on product pages reflect how accessories generally work, and your experience may vary with your console model, software version and how you play.
Product information and compatibility
Every listing on RozGamer.co.uk names the manufacturer and the consoles or devices the product is designed for. Specifications, compatibility and features come from manufacturers and can change without notice, for example when a new console model or system update is released. Before you buy, please:
- check the compatibility notes on the product page against your exact console or device model;
- make sure any features you rely on, such as wireless range, battery life or chat audio, are listed for your platform;
- check the manufacturer’s own information if something is critical to you, for example on the PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo websites;
- ask us if you’re not sure. We’d much rather help you choose than have you send something back.
Compatibility checks worth making
These are the details that most often catch shoppers out. They’re accurate at the time of writing, but console makers can change how their systems work through updates.
| Platform | What to check |
|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | PS5 games need a DualSense or DualSense Edge controller. A DualShock 4 connects to a PS5, but only for playing PS4 games. PS VR2 works with PS5, and with a PC through Sony’s PS VR2 PC adapter, which is sold separately. |
| Xbox Series X|S | Most Xbox One wireless controllers and headsets also work with Xbox Series X|S. Xbox consoles don’t support Bluetooth audio, so a wireless headset needs Xbox Wireless support or its own Xbox-compatible adapter. |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Switch 2 is larger than the original Switch and Switch OLED, so cases, screen protectors and grips made for one won’t fit the other. Original Joy-Con and Pro Controllers work with Switch 2 for most games. |
| PC | Check how the accessory connects (USB, wireless dongle or Bluetooth), which operating systems it supports and whether it needs companion software for features such as lighting or button mapping. |
Browse accessories by platform in our PlayStation accessories, Xbox accessories, Nintendo Switch accessories and PC gaming accessories ranges.
Images and illustrations
Product photos show the item as supplied by the manufacturer, but colours, finishes and packaging can look slightly different on your screen or change between production runs. The illustrations used around our website are decorative artwork and don’t depict any specific product.
Prices, availability and errors
- Prices are shown in pounds sterling (£). Delivery options and costs are shown at checkout before you pay.
- Availability can change quickly, especially for new releases and popular controllers. Showing an item on the website doesn’t guarantee it’s in stock when you order.
- Errors: despite our care, a price or description may occasionally be wrong. If we find an error affecting your order, we’ll contact you before dispatch so you can either confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.
- Offers and promotions may have their own terms, such as an end date or limited stock, which we’ll always show with the offer.
How orders are accepted and processed is explained in our Terms & Conditions.
Age ratings and PEGI
Video games sold in the UK carry a PEGI (Pan European Game Information) age rating, which shows the minimum age a game is suitable for. It’s a guide to content, not to how difficult a game is. Our video games listings show the rating for each title.
- PEGI3Suitable for all age groups.
- PEGI7May contain scenes or sounds that could frighten young children.
- PEGI12May include more graphic violence towards fantasy characters, or mild bad language.
- PEGI16May include realistic violence, stronger bad language or references to drugs.
- PEGI18Adult content, which may include gross violence or strong sexual content.
In the UK, PEGI 12, 16 and 18 ratings are legally enforceable, so it’s against the law for a retailer to sell those games to anyone below the rated age. PEGI 3 and 7 are advisory. Ratings also come with content descriptors for things such as violence, bad language, fear, gambling and in-game purchases, which are worth checking if you’re buying for a younger player.
PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles all include parental controls for limiting play time, spending and online contact. PEGI.info has plain-English guidance for parents.
Trademarks and independence
RozGamer.co.uk is an independent retailer. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Microsoft or Nintendo. We use brand and product names only to describe the products we sell and the consoles they work with.
| Brand | Trademarks mentioned on our site | Owner |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation | PlayStation, PS5, PS4, DualSense, DualSense Edge, DualShock and PS VR2 | Sony Interactive Entertainment |
| Xbox | Xbox, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Xbox Wireless Controller | Microsoft (the Microsoft group of companies) |
| Nintendo | Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and Joy-Con | Nintendo |
All other product names, logos and brands are the property of their respective owners. Where an accessory is officially licensed by a console maker, the product listing will say so. Third-party accessories are made by independent manufacturers and aren’t official console products unless stated.
Electrical safety and safe play
Chargers, batteries and anything that plugs in
Controllers, headsets, charging docks and power adapters contain rechargeable batteries or connect to mains power, so they need a little care. The charity Electrical Safety First has excellent advice, and these basics go a long way:
- use the cable and charger the manufacturer recommends, and look for UKCA or CE marking on anything that plugs in;
- be wary of unusually cheap chargers and cables from unknown sellers, as counterfeit electricals can be dangerous;
- charge on a hard, flat surface rather than a bed or sofa, and unplug devices once they’re fully charged;
- stop using any product that gets unusually hot, smells of burning, or has a swollen or damaged battery, and contact us if you bought it from us;
- never put batteries or electricals in your household bin. They contain materials that can harm the environment and valuable parts that can be recovered, so please recycle your old electricals separately;
- check the government’s product safety alerts and recalls if you’re concerned about an item.
Always follow the safety instructions supplied with each product. They take priority over general guidance on our website.
Healthy gaming habits
A very small number of people may experience seizures triggered by flashing lights or patterns in video games, even with no history of epilepsy. If you or someone you’re playing with feels dizzy, has altered vision, twitching or disorientation, stop playing and seek medical advice. Take regular breaks during long sessions, and for virtual reality follow the manufacturer’s age and safety guidance: Sony says PS VR2 is not for use by children under 12, for example.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites where we think they’ll help you, such as console makers, PEGI, Citizens Advice and the UK government. These links open in a new tab. We don’t control those websites and aren’t responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices, and a link doesn’t mean we endorse everything on them.
Advertising and sponsored content
Product descriptions, buying guides and recommendations on RozGamer.co.uk are written by our team to help you choose. If we ever publish sponsored content, paid placements or affiliate links, we’ll label them clearly so you always know when a brand has paid or when we may earn a commission.
